Black cake is an original recipe from Colombia with plenty of chopped dried fruit inside (almonds, walnuts, raisins, plums, and figs), tasty black dough, traditional flavor of sweet spices, and generously bathed in sweet wine.
By tradition, Colombians consume black cake on special dates, birthday parties, marriages and to celebrate important occasions in their lives. But far from their land, there is no need for a special reason to consume it.
It is an icon of Colombian gastronomy longed for wherever you want, it is delicious alone or accompanied, a rich detail to share or give as a gift, and excellent as a dessert.
